Personal Property: Together for Change asked for the nullity of the session

The changes on the Personal Property Tax that were confirmed with the approval of the Senate last Wednesday add a new chapter. While some of the representatives cross paths on social networks, as were the cases of José Luis Espert and Leandro Santoro, now the situation is advancing in the judicial framework. Through social networks and with a public presentation, the interbloc of Together for Change “presented today an action of Amparo before the justice with the aim of declaring null and void the session of the upper house of last December 29,” according to the official Twitter. In it, the presentation of an amparo is clarified, which fell on the Contentious Administrative Court No. 5, where they report that the request is based on “the violation of article 15 of the Operating Regulations of said Chamber, which indicates that, after the schedule of summons to session, there are thirty minutes to begin said session”.

“As is public knowledge and as recorded in the filming of the special session (which is offered as evidence), after the thirty-minute period, the quorum required by the Regulations was not met. Despite this, several minutes after the deadline, the presidency began the session,” they clarified. In this sense, they do not pose their claim on the result of the vote, but on the fact that “the conduct of the president of the Senate once again departs from the Regulations and works arbitrarily, violating the constitutional procedure of formation and sanction of the laws.”
“It finds its basis in one of the substantial aspects of parliamentary procedure, such as the quorum and that in essence is linked to the need to have a minimum representative majority of the popular will,” they add from Together for the Cambio.La presentation was carried out by the head of the interbloc, Alfredo Cornejo, and the presidents of each block Luis Naidenoff (UCR); Humberto Schiavoni (Frente PRO); Juan Carlos Romero (Justicialist October 8); Lucila Crexell (Neuquén Movement); Ignacio Torres (Integration and Development Chubutense) and Beatriz Ávila (Social Justice).
