Ramón Arias: “Thank you for allowing me to play in a giant of the continent”

Uruguayan defender Ramón Arias wrote at the end of 2021 a farewell message for the fans of Universidad de Chile, after his controversial departure from the blue club. The 29-year-old defender arrived in February 2021 in the university cast and would end up being key, with two goals, in the match that allowed the ‘romantic traveler’ to continue in the honor series of national football. Through his Instagram account, ‘Cachila’ dedicated an emotional message to the fans of the ‘U’. “Thank you to all the blue people for enduring this year that luckily is being left behind. Thank you to everyone who worked tirelessly for the ‘U’ and so that we did not lack anything, from the security of the CDA to the designated drivers on each trip,” he said. Even so, the new addition of Peñarol thanked Sergio Bernabé Vargas, former goalkeeper and former blue sports manager, for his signing at Universidad de Chile. “Thank you for allowing me to play in a giant of the continent and for banking me at all times,” he said. Finally, Arias recalled the blue campaign. “Unfortunately we ended the year suffering, but there is no doubt that the following year will go well. My family and I will always remember them. Do not forget that the ‘U’ is great for its people,” he said.
