Bancada PS appealed to the Comptroller’s Office for lithium tender

This day the bench of deputies of the PS went to the Comptroller’s Office for the lithium tender, after yesterday the government announced the award of the contest to two companies, for an amount for the State of US $ 121 million. In the letter, the parliamentarians request to annul the contest of those who the Executive announced the result amid opposition criticism and by the President-elect to the process. Deputy Daniela Cicardini said the government did not consider the observations “that have been made by all of Chile, Congress, the governors, the President-elect, the indigenous communities.” The government not only insisted, not only awarded but advanced (the award). This government is graduating as one of the most miserable governments and President Piñera as the worst elected President in our democracy,” added the parliamentarian. Cicardini also said that the President “has done everything to gain more resources for his friends, to question a resource that belongs to all Chileans by delivering lithium to private companies, which is unsustainable.” Lithium is not sold, it is defended and it is something that we will continue to do in administrative and judicial actions (…) President Piñera cannot continue to do what he pleases and take them peeled,” he added.
