Pregnant woman and four children rescued in Rio Grande

Coahuila.- A group of migrants were saved last weekend from the Rio Grande Group Beta Piedras Negras of the National Institute of Migration (INM) in Coahuila. Among those rescued were a pregnant woman of Honduran origin with her daughter; two boys and a girl of Mexican nationality and another woman from Guatemala, who was leaning on crutches due to an ankle injury. INM personnel located the group of migrants at a point known as Paseo del Río, located between International Bridges 1 and 2.The rescued Central American women narrated that they were stranded in the middle of the river when they realized that they could not cross into the United States because of the strong current and the low temperature of the water. In addition, they explained that they were afraid that some of the minors would slip out of their hands. The Beta Group first took the pregnant woman and her daughter to Mexican soil, then returned for the other two minors and the pregnant woman. Read more: To the ground!
