AMLO returns to the morning after second COVID-19 infection

After a week in isolation due to his second COVID-19 infection, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador returned to the conference of morning press, claiming that he had already overcome the disease.
He assured that his symptoms were mild, who did not present warmth and who had good oxygenation: “I had no body discomfort, two days hoarseness and burning in the throat, basically that”.
The president indicated that his treatment consisted of taking care of himself, isolating himself and drinking a lot of water. He said he took Paracetamol for two days and applied lemon honey to his throat.

“And remedies that we all know, make fun of the VapoRub, but it helps, especially because we all like to be caressed, to be given a little carving … as long as whoever is doing the caress is already free of COVID.”

Although he pointed out that the ómicron variant does not have the same gravity as the previous one, he asked the citizens avoid contagion and get vaccinated, especially with the booster dose, since with this “there are fewer symptoms and we do not aggravate”.

“What we have to do is get vaccinated, those who have thought about it enough I would recommend that they get vaccinated, it does not affect them, it has no secondary harm to vaccinate and it does protect, thanks to the vaccine is that we are getting ahead,” he said.
López Obrador took the opportunity to thank all the people who were aware of his state of health: “Love with love is paid, it is reciprocal, I love very much, and I say it sincerely, to the people of Mexico.”
Among the thanks, he included the leaders of foreign countries who expressed their solidarity.
He indicated that he would continue to work full-time and resume face-to-face meetings, which he pointed out cannot be had when someone has COVID; although a video he posted during his isolation was seen along with Interior Secretary Adán Augusto López and Finance Secretary Rogelio Ramírez.
“In general, this, I repeat, is very encouraging because COVID no longer has the same severity, anyway we have to attend to each other, we have to be aware, one does not require the test if there are no symptoms and not scare us,” the president insisted.

On January 10, the president appeared at the morning press conference with symptoms of the disease, accepted that it had “dawned hoarsely”, but said that it was “flu”.
Hours later confirmed positive on the COVID-19 test and had mild symptoms.
“I will remain in isolation and only do office work and communicate virtually until I get ahead,” he posted.
Before learning of his contagion, he lived throughout the day with at least 11 public officials, among whom was the head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum, the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto – who replaced him while he recovered – and the Federal Consumer Prosecutor, Ricardo Sheffield Padilla, who appeared at his side again on Monday.
