“No more impunity”: organizations march against the Supreme Court

Under the slogan “Enough of impunity” and demanding “the end of lawfare”, different political, union, judicial and human rights organizations will mobilize today from the Obelisk to Plaza Lavalle, in front of the Palace of Courts, in rejection of the current composition of the Supreme Court of Justice.Fuentes close to Luis D’Elía, one of the promoters of the march, They marked that the different groups will meet at the Obelisk from 15:00 and then move to the Plaza de Tribunales, where an act will take place from 18:00. In addition to the Federation of Land, Housing and Habitat (FTV), Judge Juan María Ramos Padilla, the Autonomous CTA chaired by Ricardo Peidro and the groups Peronismo Militante and Corriente Federal Martín Fierro are calling for the mobilization.

The national government gave freedom of action to its officials to join, participate or not in the march: while the “Albertism” is not too enthusiastic about the initiative, other members of the Executive have already advanced their support and some even plan to participate in the mobilization. Among the latter, the figure of the Minister of Territorial Development and Habitat, Jorge Ferraresi, stands out, while the Deputy Minister of Justice, Juan Martín Mena, and the head of the Federal Intelligence Agency, Cristina Caamaño, were some of those who expressed support for the mobilization. In the trade union field, in addition to the Autonomous CTA, the CTA of the Workers headed by the national deputy Hugo Yasky, the Federal Current led by the banker and also the official deputy Sergio Palazzo will participate together with the truckers’ union of Pablo Moyano and Canillitas de Omar Plaini. From the judicial field, the Legitimate Justice group and the Argentine Association of Jurists will be of the party, while for the Human Rights movement will be, among other organizations, the Association mothers of Plaza de Mayo de Hebe de Bonafini and the Argentine League for Human Rights.

The presence of national deputies of the Frente de Todos such as Leopoldo Moreau is also foreseen, while Leandro Santoro expressed himself in favor of the march but explained that he will not participate in the mobilization because he considers that being a member of the Legislative Power does not correspond to him to interfere in actions against another power of the State. The Together for Change alliance remarked that the Constitution establishes the way to remove judges and stressed that “this procedure cannot be replaced by factional claims such as those encouraged by the Government,” while warning that “it is simply a coup attitude.”
