Director of the Secretariat of Communications of the Constitutional Convention presented her resignation to the body

The director of the Secretariat of Communications of the Constitutional Convention, Lorena Penjean, presented her resignation from the position she held, but not before launching her criticism of the Board of Directors headed by María Elisa Quinteros. The letter was sent in the evening hours of Wednesday.
According to La Tercera, from inside the Convention they affirm that the differences between Lorena Penjean and the Board of Directors have been dragging on since Elisa Loncón commanded the organ and that, after the arrival of Quinteros, that dissimilarity was accentuated.
“I have come to the conclusion that there is no cohesion or internal will that is required to deploy a professional communication strategy and according to the magnitude of the challenge. A Communications plan at the height of the citizenry,” he said.
On the other hand, Penjean said that the body has a “communicational debt”, which for the journalist translates into its insufficient funds. “But above all, factors directly dependent on the behavior of the constituents, the Board of Directors and, especially, President Quinteros,” he said. “Communications efforts are a must, not an option when it comes to processes with this complexity,” he added.
“The institutional voice is today an urgency that must be deployed as soon as possible so that citizens, without exclusions, have the tools to be part of the most important public deliberation of recent decades. The process is as important as the result, otherwise, it is enough to remember the Colombian experience and Brexit,” he concluded.
