Launch a campaign to raise awareness about grooming and cyberbullying

In the framework of the International Day for a Safe Internet, the social network TikTok and the Association Chicos.net launched the #EligeTuForma campaign with the aim of raising awareness among adolescents, families and teachers about grooming, cyberbullying and hate speech. The initiative aims to prevent risks and provide “tools to talk as a family and achieve a safe and enjoyable experience in digital environments” to find “moments of dialogue” and generate “a space of trust, so that children and adolescents can feel that their families accompany them in their digital lives, without hindering them”, Indicated. It is composed of a series of 10 videos for adolescents that can be seen here where it will also have materials for adults, triggers to start conversations with young people on different topics related to the use of the internet and a didactic guide for teachers with activities to be carried out in educational spaces.

Grooming, dangerous challenges, cyberbullying, hate speech, screen time, misinformation, the importance of consent, personal image and self-esteem or digital footprint, are some of the topics to address in family and at school and stimulate a healthy and safe experience in the networks. The director of Chicos.net, Andrea Urbas, said in a press release released by Télam that “it is normal for families to be in permanent tension in the face of understanding what children and adolescents do with screens.” As part of the project, on the 23rd the webinar “The most challenging challenge: talking to teenagers about what they do in the networks” will be held. Registration is now open here.
