Vallejo joins Marcel’s criticism against the Executive for extension of IFE Laboral without prior notice: “They can not continue to pretend to govern after March 11”

The future government spokeswoman, Camila Vallejo (PC) joined the criticism of the next Minister of Finance, Mario Marcel, against the Government for extending the IFE Labor and the Protects Subsidy without prior consultation with the new administration.
“Our Minister of Finance, Mario Marcel, has the full support of the political committee in expressing the annoyance because again the outgoing government intends to influence the administration or financial elements,” Vallejo said this afternoon.

“We have reiterated that this government has a mandate until March 11, but it cannot continue to pretend to govern after March 11,” he added. “This has nothing to do with politics in particular,” he said, but reiterated “it is still intended to establish as a norm that his mandate exceeds whatever it is on March 11.”
“It has been requested, through the Minister of Finance, Mario Marcel, on behalf of the political committee, that this not be repeated again,” Vallejo added.
Marcel’s Reviews
President Sebastián Piñera announced on Tuesday the extension of the IFE Laboral and susidio Protege until June 30.
However, the next finance minister questioned the measure after meeting with the current head of the portfolio, Rodrigo Cerda, in the framework of bilateral meetings ahead of the transfer of command on March 11.
“It commits public resources, which have to do with measures that are implemented within the period of the next government without having had information about it,” Marcel said in the executive’s announcement.
“We have asked the minister that, henceforth, in the days remaining for the change of command, as far as possible no new measures are adopted that involve and commit public resources. And if it has to happen for the same reasons, we can be informed in a timely manner, I think it is typical of a transition,” he said.
In this regard, Minister Cerda said that “we are governing until the last day and that means that we make decisions in many areas every day and this is another decision that we had to make and this decision was made based on worrying about the jobs of Chileans.”
“That is what governing is about, that does not mean that we can have good coordination with the incoming government, but we must recognize that we have to continue governing and worrying about the quality of life of Chileans until the last day and that is what we are going to be doing,” added the head of the Treasury.
