Filmmaker Samuel Ríos y Valles killed in an attempted assault in CDMX

Samuel Ríos y Valles, filmmaker, director and founder of the advertising production house ‘Mastodonte’, was murdered this Saturday in the Del Valle neighborhood, in Mexico City.
The Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (FGJCDMX) reported that Samuel Ríos died from a gunshot in an attempted assault, at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Friday, on Gabriel Mancera Avenue,
The filmmaker was intercepted by two men while traveling with another person aboard a gray Jeep pickup truck.

Police from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) went to the scene, as well as private paramedics, who transferred the victim to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

The agency initiated an investigation folder for the crime of intentional homicide, and ordered the intervention of the Investigative Police (PDI) and personnel of the General Coordination of Forensic Investigation, to carry out the necessary proceedings.

As part of the first actions at the site, PDI detectives carried out field work to locate possible witnesses and analyzed video surveillance cameras of the C5, which recorded the route of the vehicle of the possible aggressors. There are still no detainees.
On social networks, Mastodont shared an obituary in which they expressed that “Sam, without a doubt leaves a gigantic hole in all the people who love you so much and who had the great fortune to share this life with you.”
