Family of the ‘Mijis’ denies his death; has 27 days missing

The family of Pedro Carrizales, known as “Mijis”, denied that there is official information about the former deputy, who is still missing, and asked the media not to speculate about it.
“So far no Prosecutor’s Office has given official information on the whereabouts of Mijis. We beg the media not to speculate on something so painful. We and the authorities will keep you informed,” they wrote through Carrizales’ Twitter account.

The statement comes after the media Proceso published that the Tamaulipas Prosecutor’s Office had summoned his relatives to inform them that the former deputy had died in a car accident.
“Mijis” has been missing since February 1, when his family stopped having communication with him. It is now 27 days since its disappearance and uncertainty is growing.
This is not the first time this has happened. In October of last year, his disappearance was also reported while on his way to a performance center in San Luis Potosí to peacefully protest against Lalo Mora, vocalist of Los Invasores de Nuevo León, for possible sexual harassment against several women.
On that occasion, according to the “Mijis”, he was kidnapped and let go with a bag on his head after singing a song by Lalo Mora, a condition that his captors put on him not to kill him. Then, he was located by the National Guard in the municipality of Zaragoza and was beaten.
