13-year-old girl murdered in Ecatepec, Edomex; no arrests

A 13-year-old girl was killed on March 6 outside a housing unit in Ecatepec, State of Mexico.
According to a report by the newspaper Reforma, the body of the minor was found by neighbors of the Fovissste José María Morelos y Pavón Housing Unit.
The Prosecutor’s Office of the State of Mexico maintained that there are advanced proceedings, but ruled out that there is any arrest for femicide.

This same Sunday, the agency announced the arrest of a couple from Atizapán de Zaragoza for their probable participation in the femicide of their daughter, a baby of almost 2 years of age.

Both are accused of causing various injuries to various parts of the body of the girl who had kempe syndrome “known as an abused boy,” according to the Prosecutor’s Office of the State of Mexico.
This Tuesday, March 8, in a new commemoration of International Women’s Day, citizens, collectives and organizations plan to march in Mexico City and other cities of the country to demand an end to violence, impunity and inequality.
The demonstrators will also demand justice for the femicides registered in the country and for other aggressions, as well as equal opportunities and respect for their rights.
