The government of President Gabriel Boric – who took office on Friday, March 11 – must present 75 bills – and that are approved by Congress – to fulfill its campaign program.
El Mercurio reviewed the initiatives that the President will have to present and placed the tax reform project as a priority.
In this line, the aforementioned media relieved the initiatives of the increase of the minimum wage, the reform of the pension system and a reform of the anti-circumvention norm.
Another relevant initiative is the one that establishes 40 working hours a week. This project, however, is already in Congress.
In terms of health, there is the proposal for a national health system and the reform of the universal health system, the comprehensive mental health project.
They also contemplate a comprehensive, inclusive and non-sexist sex education project. They also seek to present another initiative that guarantees “the voluntary interruption of pregnancy as a guaranteed health benefit”, and another that sanctions gender violence in a work context.
They will also seek to repeal the Fisheries Law, eliminate the figure of the thin presidential, among others.
