Meanwhile, the State Human Rights Commission of Baja California (CEDHBC) condemned the murder and demanded that the authorities clarify the facts, where a professor at the Technological Institute of Tijuana (ITT) was also injured.

According to the commission itself, Patricia Rivera Reyes was dedicated to the defense of the rights of indigenous communities and was also a counselor of the Autonomous Public Organism in the then Attorney General’s Office of Baja California.
“The ombudsperson, Miguel Ángel Mora Marrufo, underlined the call for an expeditious process of the case, given that any attack on human rights defenders is an offense to society,” the agency said in a position.
So far, neither the Ministry of the Interior nor the Undersecretary of Human Rights, Population and Migration, Alejandro Encinas, have released information on the case.
