Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, adopted daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, came into the life of the former famous couple when she was just six months old. According to Angelina, at the time the girl from Ethiopia was named Yemsrach when she came into her life in 2005. And after the adoption process that the couple undertook, she received a new name and officially became the daughter of the actors.
Now, her biological mother, Mentewab Dawit Lebiso, told in an interview her tragic story and the events that led her to give her daughter up for adoption, in order to save her life. The woman revealed that she conceived the girl as a result of a rape, and that she kept silent out of fear, since in her community it is frowned upon to pronounce herself as a victim of sexual abuse. However, Mentewab clarified that she is grateful to Angelina for adopting her daughter and giving her a standard of living that she could never offer her.” My baby was on the verge of death. She was left malnourished and wasn’t even able to cry. I was desperate and decided to move away, instead of seeing my little girl dying,” she told Reuters. However, Angelina’s version is that the girl was an orphan since her mother had died, the product of complications derived from the SIDA.No however, the biological mother of the now teenager is not looking for money or any opportunism and left a message to Jolie. I think my daughter is very fortunate to be adopted by a globally famous woman. I wish you all the luck in the world. Angelina Jolie has been more than a mother to her than I have. She’s been with her since she was a baby, but that doesn’t mean I don’t miss her,” he said. He added: “I would like to have some kind of contact, I would like to see his face… I would ask Angelina to let me talk to her… I don’t want Angelina’s money, she doesn’t have to give me money, I just want to talk to Zahara,” he said. He also stated that “the only way he has to know how his daughter has grown up is through the media, as well as the information sent to him by one of his brothers who lives in the United States.”
