An armed attack on the road to Valparaiso, in Fresnillo, left three women dead, one of them a minor, and seven injured, the Zacatecas prosecutor’s office said.
The agency explained that on Wednesday afternoon it received a report, from the emergency service, about people injured by firearm inside a van on the road.
At the scene, authorities confirmed the death of the women, while the injured, including minors, were taken to hospitals for medical attention.
According to Milenio, police agents, who participated in the operation, said that the shooting began when armed men tried to assault the family traveling in the van, but when they did not stop, they began to shoot them.

In a statement, the prosecutor’s office indicated that, a few kilometers from the place, on the same road, they located an abandoned vehicle, where they found ballistic elements; expert studies are carried out to determine if it is related to the aggression.
He added that the investigation folder has already begun and more data is being collected by the Investigative Police to clarify the facts.
Zacatecas recorded 11 murders in the first three days of April, a figure that reflects the problems of violence that the entity is going through.
Over the past few months, the state has recorded murders, shootings and the abandonment of corpses on public roads.
