The only person accused of the murder of a teenager in Coronel is ordered to be remanded in custody

A man was left in preventive pressure as the only one accused of the murder of the 16-year-old teenager, Nicolás Paillán, who had disappeared last Saturday and was found dead on Monday in Coronel, Bío Bío region, 50 meters from a club and inside an abandoned house.
“Until tomorrow at 12.15 p.m. the detention of the 35-year-old accused was extended, to whom the Prosecutor’s Office of Coronel attributes responsibility, as author, in the homicide of a 16-year-old teenager, which occurred over the weekend in the aforementioned commune,” the BíoBío prosecutor’s office reported at 1:38 p.m via Twitter.
When he was arrested in San Pedro de La Paz, this Wednesday, Francisco Maturana Muñoz, nicknamed Goku, confessed his participation in the crime, so he was formalized in hearing.
According to information gathered by Bío Bío, after the hearing to formalize charges, held around 2:00 p.m. on Friday, the investigation period was set at 6 months.
Part of the background that is known regarding the detainee, were granted by the prosecutor of Coronel, Cristian Vega, who announced that “the person lived or spent the night at least in front of the place where this young man had attended with his family group and in that place the facts occur and the body is found.”
In addition, he pointed out that “he would have had the victim’s phone and would have marketed it on Saturday.” In this way, he explained that “since Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning there was already a record to charge him and he was clearly suspicious of the facts.”
Meanwhile, the sub-prefect of the PDI, Óscar Alvarado, reported that the man has a criminal record for various crimes.
Added to this is known the man worked selling calendars in collective locomotion and lived as a squatter in an abandoned house, located in front of the place where the young Nicolás was last seen alive.
In addition, as confirmed by the Investigation Police, the man changed his address from Coronel to Lota, after his alleged participation in the homicide.
The press did not have access to the hearing, since the case is reserved, after the Office of the Ombudsman for Children and the complainant requested the measure, BíoBío said.
