A young man burned: students barricade and cut off traffic in downtown Santiago

Around 9:30 a.m. this morning, a group of students – mostly from the National Institute – gathered in the Alameda with Arturo Prat, in the heart of Santiago, to hold demonstrations that included traffic cuts, barricades and attack on Carabineros.

Police officers went to the place to deter the demonstrators, making use of the water launcher and tear gas, with the aim of restoring order. One of the students was burned before an eventual use of Molotov cocktails, while a group of protesters burned a police car with these same devices.
