“Community Civil Protection Brigades 2022” program begins

Culiacán, Sinaloa.- In the search to strengthen the participation between society and the Government of Culiacán, with a view to generating greater conditions of prevention and security, this morning the Community Civil Protection Plan was presented with the aim of counteracting the ravages and reducing the risks of facing accidents and environmental contingencies. In the presentation ceremony, Marco Antonio Martínez de Alba, head of the Municipal Coordination of Civil Protection, explained that this program consists of the training of the inhabitants of colonies and syndicates detected as high-risk points, on the measures that must be applied during the first minutes in which a situation that threatens public health is detected. Acting in a timely and effective manner, with tools and maneuvers that are within their reach and do not promote greater danger, the Community Brigades will provide support until the moment that the competent authorities of aid and rescue arrive, “said Martínez de Alba.He added that through the personnel of the coordination the said brigades will be formed, they will acquire the necessary knowledge to attend different types of emergencies, whether strangulations, burns from fires, floods, heart failure, among others.” This is of the utmost importance, since a timely reaction sometimes depends on the life of a person; that is why the mayor, Mr. Jesús Estrada Ferreiro, gave us the instruction to help the population to work together in prevention work for the benefit of their health, “he said. For his part, Héctor Modesto Félix Carrillo, director of the State Institute of Civil Protection, stressed that today the Community Civil Protection Plan begins with 60 brigades at the state level, 9 of them in the capital of Sinaloa as a first stage. He said that for this work, survival kits are delivered to the leaders of the brigades so that they can use them when they have to apply a rescue maneuver that does not expose their lives, because their support should never compromise their health, since they will only be helpers until the arrival of the rescuers or paramedics.
