Moments of terror lived students of a school -of the same name of the city- in Antofagasta, this after shots were recorded in its surroundings forcing its students to take refuge in their desks so as not to be hit by one of the bullets.
In the existing audiovisual records, it can be seen that everything began as a result of a street brawl on the outskirts of the educational establishment located in the northern sector of the city.
Faced with this, the supporter of the school, Rodrigo Rivero Pérez, said in 24 Horas that “there was a shooting near the school. We took all the safeguard measures with the students, one of the internal procedures was activated.” He also noted that they called the parents of the students who suffered anxiety attacks to remove them.
The noises of gunfire were also heard in two other nearby schools, the Liceo La Chimba and the Netland School, who had to take protective measures against the facts.
The commissioner of the 5th Police Station of La Portada, Nattia Gonzalez, indicated that after inspections were carried out in the area, no weapons were found. He also explained that a vehicle in which minors and an adult were traveling was checked, in addition to the constant patrols in the area.
At the moment there are no detainees and investigations into the case are continuing.
