“Elvis”: the story of the unprecedented legend premiered its new trailer

A new trailer has arrived for “Elvis”, the film that explores the life and rise to international fame of one of the greatest exponents of music. Starring Austin Butler (“Zoey 101,” “The Carrie Diaries,” “The Chronicles of Shannara”) and directed by Oscar nominee Baz Luhrmann (“The Great Gatsby,” “Moulin Rouge!”)” It will not be a concert of nostalgia, we will do something different”, is one of the phrases that we hear the protagonist say, dialogue that works as a kind of message for those who watch the trailer: as a preparensé that this premiere will not focus only on the longing of the star, but will tell a story from a novel side.

This refers to Elvis Presley’s relationship with his enigmatic agent, Colonel Tom Parker, who in the film is played by Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks. Presley and Parker, figure and representative, had a bond that lasted more than 20 years, from their rise to fame to their unprecedented stardom, in the context of the cultural landscape that was brewing in the United States. “If you don’t control the business, the business will control you,” we hear him warn him in this trailer.

During that maelstrom, Elvis will meet “one of the most significant and influential people in his life” -as the synopsis dates us- Priscilla Presley, in the skin of Olivia DeJonge (“The Sisterhood of Night”, “The Visit”, “Stray Dolls”). The cast includes actresses and well-known actors such as Helen Thomson (“Top of the Lake: China Girl”, “Rake”) as Elvis’ mother, Gladys, Richard Roxburgh (“Moulin Rouge!”, “Breath”, “Hacksaw Ridge”) as Elvis’ father, Vernon, Luke Bracey (“Hacksaw Ridge”, “Point Break”) as Jerry Schilling, Natasha Bassett (“Hail, Caesar!”) as Dixie Locke, David Wenham (“The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, “Lion”, “300”) as Hank Snow, Kelvin Harrison Jr. (“The Trial of the Chicago 7”, “The High Note”) as B.B. King, Xavier Samuel (“Adore”, “Love & Friendship”, “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”) as Scotty Moore, Kodi Smit-McPhee (“The Power of the Dog”) as Jimmie Rodgers Snow, and Dacre Montgomery (“Stranger Things,” “The Broken Heart Gallery”) as television director Steve Binder.
