IMJU Mocorito raises awareness about the inclusion of young people with different abilities

Currently the municipal government of Mocorito is implementing a program to raise awareness of the inclusion of young people with physical disabilities and thereby facilitate their adaptation in society, through empathy and experiences to be understood, taken into account and can perform with the least difficulties in the community. The program is called ‘For an Inclusive Mocorito!’ and is in charge of the Municipal Youth Institute (IMJU), which is part of the strategies of the Municipal Development Plan of Mayor María Elizalde Ruelas for the constitutional period 2021-2024.In that sense, the head of the IMJU, Luis Alejandro Sánchez Vega announced that these activities are underpinned by, Wascar Elian López Mejia, an exemplary young man and prominent member of the Telethon family, who has managed to get ahead despite his motor disability. He is also part of the Board of Directors of this institute and is also collaborating as a volunteer in various actions in favor of the youth of Mocoritense. Based on this, they are visiting middle and high schools to give talks on inclusion of young people with disabilities. As well as, implementation of dynamics where young people perform daily activities with blindfolded eyes, arms and legs to cause empathy by putting them in equal physical conditions. Eustaquio Buelna High School, to which they will return at the request of the same campus. He also added that they will do the same in other schools of the different syndicates and communities of the municipality of Mocorito.
