says Adam Augustus before Ebrard’s campaign

The Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López, responded to Marcelo Ebrard’s new campaign to keep in touch with the citizens by assuring that he does answer the messages sent to him by the population.
“I do answer, here is the personal number, send me a message and put me to the test… nothing but politics we can only talk about sundays… ask what you want,” the official said as he gave his phone to the media.

The Secretary of the Interior, @adan_augusto, says that he will answer the #WhatsApp:

– Are you going to answer them?
– “Yes of course…”
– Because they already complained about @m_ebrard that does not respond…
– “No, I do answer” pic.twitter.com/WPRcAm34yW

The answer comes on Monday that Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard announced a WhatsApp number that he will use to keep in touch with the population, heading into the 2024 presidential elections.
“5515025360 my what’s up to be communicated. If they want to send a message I read them,” he said through his Twitter account.
When asked about Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard’s statements of being uncovered and being a “recognized corcholata”, the head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum, said that the secretary is in his right.
“He is within his rights, no particular comment. To the president, thank you for having mentioned us on different occasions and it will depend in due course what you are going to plan the survey,” he said.
At a press conference, he pointed out that unity will always be sought in the transformation movement above all else.
Ebrard tests positive for COVID
On Monday, Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard reported that he tested positive for COVID-19, a day after the federal official was on tour to promote his aspirations for Morena’s presidential candidacy in 2024.
Ebrard spoke about the issue on Twitter. In his message, he said he has symptoms of a cold with no signs of concern.

On my test today I came back positive for COVID-19. So I’ll be working from home. I feel like when you get cold, nothing to worry about. Today I was not in the Security Cabinet. I am informing you.

Yesterday, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Ebrard led an event with supporters. In front of them, he said that he is “uncovered” and that he will launch to defend his aspirations to compete for the Presidency of the Republic in 2024.
Last week, the head of government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, also a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, tested positive for COVID-19. He remains in isolation and said Monday he hopes to resume regular activities soon.
After Ebrard’s infection became known, Sheinbaum sent him a message on Twitter to wish him recovery.

Dear @m_ebrard wish you a speedy recovery. https://t.co/FoF7HWkFmY

On June 12, the two met during a rally in Toluca, State of Mexico, to call for Morena’s unity. Another president also participated there, the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López.
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has said that Morena militants who want the candidacy are free to act, but if they are officials they must first fulfill their responsibilities.
López Obrador has included in the list of possible presidential candidates the secretaries of Economy, Tatiana Clouthier, and of Energy, Rocío Nahle. Another candidate is Morena’s leader in the Senate, Ricardo Monreal.
