“13 Lives” Trailer: Viggo Mortensen Stars in Film Based on Exciting Case Story

In mid-2018 a news shocked the world: twelve young people and their coach were rescued by a team of rescuers who worked against the clock to save their lives. Story coming soon to Amazon Prime Video under the title “13 Lives”. Starring Viggo Mortensen, winner of the Donostia Award in San Sebastian, accompanied by a cast of renowned talents such as Colin Farrell, Joel Edgerton, Tom Bateman, Paul Gleeson, Pattrakorn Tungsupakul, Tui Thiraphat Sajakul, James Teeradon Supapunpinyo, Sahajak Boonthanakit, Weir Sukollawat Kanaros; they will adapt the real case in which the children, members of the 12 Wild Boars team, were trapped with their coach in underground caves in Thailand after a flood.

The film is directed by Ron Howard, Oscar winner for “A Beautiful Mind” (2001) and according to its synopsis – revealed to this media through a statement – develops “the incredible true story of the enormous global effort to rescue the Thai football team that was trapped in the Tham Luang cave during an unexpected storm”.

“Facing a seemingly insurmountable challenge, a team of the world’s most experienced divers – only they could adapt to navigating the maze of flooded and narrow tunnels – team up with Thai forces and more than 10,000 volunteers to attempt the distressing rescue of 12 children and their coach. With potential deadly consequences and with the eyes of the world on top, the group embarked on their most challenging diving session yet, showing how limitless the human spirit is in the process.” With screenplay by William Nicholson, story by Don Macpherson and William Nicholson; executive produced by Jon Kuyper, Carolyn Marks Blackwood, Marie Savare, Michael Lesslie, Aaron L. Gilbert, Jason Cloth; premieres on August 5 on the platform.
