IMF Spokesperson: “We look forward to working with Minister Batakis to continue supporting Argentina”

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) referred Monday night to Argentina after the departure of Martín Guzmán from the Ministry of Economy and the landing of Silvina Batakis. According to an IMF spokesman, the IMF wants to “continue to support” the country and wished the former minister success in his future ventures. We wish former Minister Martín Guzmán every success in his future ventures. Silvina Batakis assumed the head of the Ministry of Economy this Monday at 5:30 p.m. in a brief protocol act, where President Alberto Fernández took her oath. After taking office, the new minister assured that “she will continue with the economic program that the President marked.” In turn, the new minister said she believes that the course of the national economy will have at the center the “fiscal management” of public accounts, “follow the current economic program, generate more “exports” and “revalue” the national currency.
