4 men opened trial in CDMX for transfer of 1.6 tons of cocaine

A control judge linked to trial four men who were arrested in the operation where more than a ton 600 kilograms of cocaine were secured, in the Gustavo A. Madero mayor’s office, in Mexico City.
Derived from the integration of the investigation folder for crimes against health and bribery, ministerial staff of the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (FGJCDMX) offered evidence that allowed the judge’s action.
At the hearing, the judicial authority decided to link the four detainees to the process, who were in informal preventive detention for the federal crime and justified by that of a common order.

In addition, it set a deadline of one month for the closure of the supplementary investigation.
“The judge described the detention as legal and the agent of the Public Ministry, of the Prosecutor’s Office for the Investigation of Relevant Matters, belonging to the General Coordination of Investigation of High Impact Crimes, formulated the corresponding accusations, but the defense requested the duplicity of the constitutional term,” the capital prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

The four people linked to the process are from Durango; three of them have criminal records.
Cocaine seizure in MEXICO CITY
On July 26, the men were arrested after securing more than a ton 600 kilograms of cocaine, which was transported in two tractor-trailers and a vehicle that was likely escorting them.
The secretary of security of the capital, Omar García Harfuch, indicated that the seizure of the drug, which would allegedly be distributed in Tepito and in the United States, was a strong blow to the financial structure of criminals in the city.

He estimated that the price of the drug is 400 million pesos in Mexico City, while when it reaches its final destination – in Los Angeles – its price would be almost double.

The operation to secure the drugs and the men was deployed in the Circuito Exterior Mexiquense, at the height of Río de los Remedios Avenue, in the mayor’s office of Gustavo A. Madero, in the limits of the state of Mexico.
