Health reports 14,448 new COVID infections and 85 deaths

The trend of COVID cases, in the fifth wave of the pandemic in Mexico, continues to decline. The Ministry of Health reported that in the last 24 hours 14,448 infections and 85 deaths from the disease were reported.
The cumulative number of infections, since the beginning of the pandemic, is 6 million 854 thousand 180 cases.
In two years with five months of pandemic, 328,306 people have died from the disease.

According to the agency’s daily report, to date it is estimated that there are 127,437 active cases and 753,643 suspects.
The states with the highest number of cumulative cases are: Mexico City, State of Mexico, Nuevo León, Guanajuato, Jalisco, San Luis Potosí, Veracruz, Tabasco, Puebla and Sonora.

These 10 entities, together, make up 64% of all cumulative cases registered in the country.

According to the trend, this Saturday would be the fourth consecutive day with a decrease in cases.

The Undersecretary of Health, Hugo López-Gatell, reported, on Tuesday, that there is a decrease in infections, hospitalizations and deaths from COVID-19.
