Preventive Police Sub-Inspector Arrested; allegedly charged for promotions

Antonio “N”, sub-inspector of the Preventive Police, was arrested for his alleged participation in the crime of aggravated extortion, in June 2021, reported the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (FGJCDMX).
According to investigations by the General Coordination of Investigation of High Impact Crimes, the victim was asked for various amounts of money, probably in the name of the detained public servant, in exchange for promotion of position or grade in the Preventive Police.
The prosecutor’s office said that detectives from the agency complied with the arrest warrant against the public servant, in the streets of the Peralvillo neighborhood, in the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office.

“Detectives deployed a discreet surveillance fence and fully identified the man, so he was notified of the injunction,” the agency said.
