In June, metallurgical activity grew by 8.7% year-on-year

Metallurgical activity registered a year-on-year increase of 8.7% in June and accumulated a growth of 7.4% in the first six months of 2022. As for the level of production, this showed an improvement of 0.4% compared to May, according to a report by the Association of Metallurgical Industrialists.Likewise, the report emphasized that during that month the credit in pesos to the Non-Financial Private Sector grew 5.1% year-on-year and 0.4% compared to April, at constant prices. In June, the sectors that most increased their production level were those of Bodies, trailers and semi-trailers, Medical Equipment and Other Metal Products. The first group exceeded 16.1%, the second 13.4% and the third 12.8%. Behind, there is the Auto Parts sector that grew by 5.5% and that of Agricultural Machinery by 7.9%. In a federal sense, during the past month there were generalized increases. Topping the list are Santa Fe with 9.1% and Entre Ríos with 12.6%. Then, there is the province of Mendoza (+12.2%) and immediately after is Córdoba with a rise of 11.9%. Regarding metallurgical activity in the province of Buenos Aires, including the Autonomous City: “the activity presented an increase of 7.1% compared to June 2021, product of an increase of 6.2% in the AMBA and 12.7% in the interior of the province,” the report specified. Finally, in terms of the generation of employment of companies in this area, in June there was an increase of 2.1% compared to the same month last year.
