With a call for calm due to low occupancy in UCI Minsal reported more than a thousand new cases of Covid-19 for the third consecutive day

The head of the Health Portfolio, Enrique Paris, said that “although in the last 3 days there have been more than a thousand new cases per day, the occupation of ICU beds remains low. “This thanks to the high percentage of vaccination against Covid-19 that allows us to have almost 92% of the target population vaccinated with one dose, and almost 90% with both doses and about 3,800,000 people with their booster dose, a process that with the results we published during this week it was evident that with any of the three vaccines applied in Chile as a booster, increases the effectiveness to avoid hospitalization: with CoronaVac by 88%, with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine 87% and with the application of the AstraZeneca vaccine by 96%,” added Dr. Paris.
