July inflation in CABA was 7.7% and accumulated 69.2% year-on-year

As a prelude to inflation at the country level that will be released on Thursday at 4 p.m., the General Directorate of Statistics and Censuses of CABA released the inflation data for the month of July that was 7.7%, thus being the highest of the year. In this way, the overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) is expected to be very high, well above the catastrophic number of March. This Thursday afternoon the INDEC will announce the general number of inflation.
July inflation in CABA was 7.7% and in the last year it accumulated 69.2%. In turn, the variation of the first seven months of the year was 44.1%.

Thus, inflation in CABA accumulates 44.1% in the first seven months of the year and if the year-on-year measurement is taken into account, the increase is 69.2% in relation to July 2021.

Measurements of the DGEyC CABA.

Among the items with the highest price increase are Recreation and Culture with 13.3% and Restaurants and Hotels 12.3%, due to the effect of the winter holidays that ended last weekend, and is followed by Clothing and Footwear, with 9.4%. However, among the items that contributed the most to the CPI are again Food and non-alcoholic beverages that increased by 7.7%, the same as general inflation, but contributed 1.3 percentage points to the general number. Within this division, the main impulses were Bread and cereals (7.4%), Milk, dairy products and eggs (8.3%), Meats and derivatives (4.5%) and Vegetables, tubers and legumes (11.3%).” Seasonal goods and services averaged an increase of 15.1%, highlighting the increases in hotel accommodation rates, in the prices of clothing, in the values of tourist packages and, to a lesser extent, of vegetables. In year-on-year terms, this grouping accelerated to 85.0% a.i.”, they detail.
In July, Goods registered an increase of 8.2%, above Services, which increased 7.3%.

The monthly dynamics of goods responded mainly to increases in food prices (mainly bread, dairy, meat and vegetables). To a lesser extent, the increases in the values of clothing, personal care items, medicines, footwear and automobiles were highlighted.
