The Ministry of Health made a new assessment of the Covid-19 situation in the country, where it reported 5,546 new cases, of which 3,677 correspond to symptomatic people and 621 did not present symptoms. In addition, there were 1,248 positive PCR tests that were not reported.
In this way, the total number of people diagnosed with Covid-19 reached 4,320,173 and recovered patients reached 4,214,935 since the arrival of the coronavirus in Chile.
On the other hand, the death of 5 people in the last 24 hours was detailed, thus reaching 59,840 since the beginning of the pandemic. On the other hand, positivity reached 16.18% nationwide.
As for the active cases, these reached 39,616 people and pcr tests amounted to 31,004 in the last 24 hours, thus reaching the total amount of 42,555,426.
Meanwhile, there are 169 people hospitalized for Covid-19 in Intensive Care Units. Of these, 105 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In the same vein, the hospital capacity has 1,970 critical beds enabled and 273 critical beds available.
Positivity in the Metropolitan Region reached 11.20%, while the regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases in the last seven days are Antofagasta, O’Higgins, Coquimbo and Araucanía.
