COVID cases are down for a third day this week; add up to 12 thousand 205

Mexico added another 12,205 cases of COVID-19 on Friday, the federal Ministry of Health reported this afternoon through its technical report.
The figure indicates that cases fell for the third day in a row this week. On Tuesday there were more than 15 thousand, on Wednesday 14 thousand and on Thursday 13 thousand.
Now, the number of cases accumulated in two years with five months of pandemic amounts to 6 million 915 thousand 754.

As for the number of people who died from this disease, today another 72 were added. With this, the victims reach 328 thousand 668.
Since COVID-19 arrived in Mexico – which officially happened on February 28, 2020 – the country has gone through five waves of infections.
The fifth wave is still underway, although federal health officials say it is already on the decline.

This week, the Ministry of Health indicated that this wave has four weeks with a decreasing trend.
Despite the situation, both national and international authorities and experts urge countries and people not to lower their guard and maintain measures to prevent contagion.
The main ones are the use of masks, keeping social distance, constant hand washing and ventilating closed places.
