Samantha disappeared in Michoacán; body found after a month

Rosaura Luna Sosa is a young mother originally from the city of Morelia, Michoacán, and found dead in the municipality of Silao, Guanajuato.
The 20-year-old disappeared on July 7, after she left home for work.
Although she was found dead three days later, on July 10, just this August 15 her family was informed of the finding.

Her relatives recalled that on July 7 Samantha left her house as every day to go to work and since then nothing was known about her whereabouts.
They recalled that a few hours after losing communication with Samantha, they filed a complaint for her disappearance with the Michoacán Prosecutor’s Office.
They charged that despite the fact that a few days had already passed, the Prosecutor’s Office had not found evidence or evidence that the search actions had been carried out.

They have since demanded that the authorities not allow Samantha to become just another figure and search for her.
They even asked the Michoacán authorities to work in coordination with the Guanajuato Prosecutor’s Office, since the last location of his cell phone had been in that state.
Accompanied by feminist collectives, the relatives had already asked that the authorities stop simulations and really do their job.
They considered every minute that passed to be an eternity for their family and friends to await their return.
“We refuse to let Samantha become just one more number among the hundreds of thousands that swell the lists of missing persons,” they said.
Call for protest over murder of Samantha Luna Sosa
In that demonstration held in the Michoacan capital, they also expressed:
“We demand that the prosecutor’s offices of Michoacán and Guanajuato exhaust all the necessary resources to find Samantha, that they do not let more time pass waiting just to find a body, her mother, her sisters, her baby and her cousins and friends are waiting for her to return.
“We also demand that the executive commissions of attention to victims be involved in the issue, that they use the budget for what it is, that they attend, support and guide the family in this painful moment.  We urge the State Search Commission to work hand in hand with the prosecutor’s offices and the national search commission, always with a focus on human rights and a gender perspective. Enough of the fact that people disappear in Michoacan and everything remains the same, without attention, in impunity and the victims without justice,” they demanded.
A little more than a month after they spoke publicly and 35 days after his body was found, the Prosecutor’s Office informed the relatives of the finding.
This Tuesday, different groups of women will demonstrate in the city of Morelia, and will hold a mourning rally, as well as a collection of support for family members for funeral expenses.
