The mayor of Santa Fe, Emilio Jatón, was assaulted today by armed hand while carrying out exercises on the waterfront of Santo Tomé, a city bordering the provincial capital, official sources reported. The incident occurred shortly before 1 p.m., when two assailants approached the mayor of Santa Fe while he was performing his exercise routine on the waterfront of Santo Tomé, at the height of República de Chile Street.One of the thieves pointed a gun at him and stole his shoes, put them on and ran away with his accomplice. According to the municipality, the assault was not violent since the mayor did not resist at any time.

The incident was reported to the 911 emergency center, and immediately personnel of the Radio Command began the search for the criminals, who were not apprehended so far.
