In Puebla, command steals from cyclists 9 bikes of 100 thousand pesos each

The Jalisco cycling team Petroli reported being the victim of an attempted kidnapping that ended with the theft of nine bicycles each with a cost of 100 thousand pesos.

The events occurred on the morning of Tuesday, August 23, on the Acatzingo-El Seco highway in Puebla territory, near the Pico de Orizaba.

“Notice. We were victims of crime. On the Acatzingo road to the Dry kilometer 13 they closed us (the passage) with long guns and took the Toyota I made truck and the work tool of our athletes their bicycles. In total 9,” the team reported on Facebook.

The riders and their companions were gunned down “in the same area where they had already assaulted a van full of triathlon bikes.”

In that mountainous area the team was preparing for the return to Colombia and then the return to Guatemala.

Among the cyclists who were assaulted are Ramón Muñiz, national team; Jorge Ramírez, runner-up of the return to Guatemala; Enrique Ramírez and Enrique Rocha; in addition to the Colombian Jordan Parra.
