Arson attack in La Araucanía left two forest trucks burned

Six armed men burned two forest trucks during an arson attack in the early hours of Friday in La Araucanía.
It was at kilometer 42, between Los Sauces and Traiguen, Carabineros said. “Hooded and armed subjects, who were mobilizing in a van, blocked this vehicle on the road, stopping two trucks, descending the drivers, spraying accelerating liquid and lighting fire,” explained Carabineros commander Eduardo Rosales, of the Malleco Prefecture.
According to Rosales, the incident occurred after 00:00 hours. In addition, he reported that after setting fire, the strangers fled and did not leave any banners alluding to any cause in the place.
The attack will be investigated by the Investigation Police (PDI), as determined by the prosecutor on duty.
With this there are already three that have happened in the region in less than a week. On Tuesday, a driver of a forest truck was beaten by armed hooded men in the commune of Lumaco.
After the attack, the strangers burned the cab of the machine, fleeing the place, while the driver was taken to a care center for the injuries. And on Thursday, armed men completely burned a truck on the route between Curacautín and Victoria.
