Silver Condor Awards: “The dog that is not silent” led the list of winners

The Association of Cinematographic Chroniclers of Argentina organized during the night of this Monday the delivery of the 70th edition of the Silver Condor Awards -recognition of the national productions of films in cinema and platforms- where “The dog that does not silence”, by Ana Katz, rose leading the list of winners. The film released in 2021, was not only chosen as the Best Film but was also distinguished in the categories of Best Direction (Ana Katz), Original Screenplay (Ana Katz and Gonzalo Delgado), Male Revelation (Daniel Katz) and Supporting Actor (Carlos Portaluppi).

The ceremony was held at the Centro Cultural 25 de Mayo (popularly known by its acronym CC25, located at Av Triunvirato 4444, City of Buenos Aires), and awarded Leonardo Sbaraglia (for “Errante Corrazón”) and Érica Rivas (for “El Prófugo”) as the best leading performances.

Three new awards
For the first time, the Academy presented three new awards. The Leonardo Favio award went to the Argentine director Adolfo Aristarain, 12 times winner of the Silver Condor; the María Luisa Bemberg award that highlighted the work of the outstanding producer Vanessa Ragone, and the Salvador Sammaritano award, to the critic, teacher and researcher Fernando Martín Peña.

On the other hand, the Buenos Aires gonier BA Audiovisual presented the audience award for the Best Fiction Film in Competition that this time was for “Implosión”, by Javier van de Couter.In addition, Osvaldo Laport won his first Silver Condor for the song “Volveré” from the film Bandido, composed with Diego BravoAbout the law of Specific Funds for Culture
In the context of cultural emergency and after the bill to extend to fifty years the expiration of the specific funds that finance the film, music, theater, popular libraries, dance and more industries was not discussed in the Senate; the president of the Academy, Juan Pablo Russo, allocated an instance of the night to “express his concern about the delay in treatment.”

“Culture is in danger because in December the law expires. Therefore, the senators of our country are urged to reverse this situation by approving the law that extends them for 50 more years. The climax is a right that the rulers must guarantee,” he said at the beginning of the ceremony. The first edition of the Silver Condor for series is coming
The event was led by Gabriela Radice, who was in charge of revealing that on November 14 at the CCK (Kirchner Cultural Center) the first delivery of the Silver Condor Awards for series will be held.
