Bill presented that allows mothers, fathers and caregivers to opt for the option of teleworking

With the aim that caregivers of infants can telework permanently, regardless of the health situation, a bill was presented that establishes the right to remote work for parents of children of preschool age, with neurodivergence or with a disability.
The bill was presented to the Chamber of Deputies by Maite Orsini, Andrés Giordano, and Daniella Cicardini. Its debate and voting is expected to begin over the next few days.

The legislative proposal states that the worker who exercises the personal care of minors will always have the right to perform their functions in the form of remote work. In addition, in no case may the employer object to this.

“Thousands of people, especially women, had to decide between their paid jobs and between their sons and daughters. The pandemic made it clear that other ways of caring and working are possible,” said Deputy Maite Orsini.

The bill also considers benefits for those who have minors who require greater care, so they can opt for the telework modality whenever the nature of their functions allows it.
On the other hand, Deputy Orsini indicated that she hopes that this project will allow the extension of the benefits and facilities of teleworking, so that it is no longer an exceptional measure, “but a permanent support and alternative for fathers and particularly working mothers”.
