Racing agreed in word the arrival of its second reinforcement

After several weeks of negotiations, Racing reached a contractual agreement with Uruguayan striker Cristian Olivera, from Almeria but who is on loan at Boston River, and is close to closing the second reinforcement in this transfer market. While the Spanish club rejected the Academy’s first offer of approximately $3 million, the player’s representatives will travel to Europe at the weekend to finalize the transfer of the 21-year-old attacker. The player has a contract until 2025 and it is not yet known how the transfer will be completed, whether it will be a loan or a transfer. The truth is that Racing needs his arrival urgently to replace the casualties of Matías Rojas – he emigrated free to Corinthians – and Carbonero – he suffered a cruciate ligament rupture. During his time at Boston River, the striker played 34 games, scored 10 goals and provided seven assists, almost always as a right winger, while on fewer occasions as a center forward. Once the transfer is consummated, the Uruguayan will be able to compete only in the Copa Libertadores (Racing will face Atlético Nacional on 3/8 and 10/8) and for the local tournament he will be able to do it in the League Cup. The other addition that is in a similar situation is Agustín Almendra, who has not yet signed a contract with the Academy because he has to wait for the end of the tournament.
