Morena Senator Faustino Lopez Dies in Car Accident

Tamaulipas Senator Faustino Lopez Vargas, Américo Villarreal’s deputy, and his wife died Saturday in a car accident.
The president of the Political Coordination Board of the Senate, Ricardo Monreal, reported the death of the legislator.
Faustino López was attending the report of Senator Soledad Luévano, but had an accident arriving in Trancoso, Zacatecas, according to the newspaper Milenio.

Monreal reported -at first- that López Vargas had had an accident and was very serious, so the report of Senator Luévano would be suspended to be aware of the health of the legislator.

In a second message, he announced the death of the senator and his wife, Pilar Hernández.

“It’s an irreparable loss that grieves us in the Senate. My affection and solidarity with his family, children and loved ones. May they rest in peace,” he said.
Faustino López was an alternate for Américo Villarreal, who asked for leave to seek the governorship of Tamaulipas, so he assumed the position of senator last January.

The Senate of the Republic deeply regrets the death of Senator Faustino López Vargas and his wife, Mrs. Pilar Hernández Morales.
