Third anniversary of the social outbreak: Government expresses intention to “recover and normalize” the spaces affected by the protests of 18-O

In the context of the third anniversary of the massive demonstrations that began on October 18, 2019 and the first commemoration that the Government of President Gabriel Boric will have to face, from the La Moneda Palace they stated that the intention is to “recover and normalize” the spaces that were severely altered by the protests that occurred as a result of the social outbreak in 2019.
On Wednesday of this week, the president led, from the Franklin sector, the launch of a new version of the Commercial Neighborhoods Strengthening Program, which will support the recovery of the urban environment in more than 40 commercial areas of the country, opening an option to those who were affected by the social outbreak.
In the activity he announced that “we want to recover the neighborhoods for the vast majority of our inhabitants, who are honest, hardworking people. We’re working that.”
According to Emol, in the coming days Boric and his cabinet will have more activities in that line. “There will be more similar things in the coming days,” they commented from the Government to the cited media, although they warned that by October 18 the head of state is evaluating carrying out a couple of activities “that will not be related” to the milestone.
These announcements would be in addition to the Commercial Neighborhoods Strengthening Program and the agreement for the recovery of the Alameda-Providencia axis.
