“So far, 28 adolescents have been received at the Alamo Hospital, who are receiving the corresponding medical evaluation; the students are stable and will remain under surveillance until the attending physician determines the hospital discharge,” explained Dr. Romana Gutiérrez Polo, director of Medical Care of Health Services of Veracruz.

Authorities of Protection against Sanitary Risks and Public Health of Veracruz said they had activated brigades to identify the causes of the apparent poisoning presented by the students of the Technical High School 67 Justo Sierra.
This case of apparent poisoning is added to those registered in recent weeks in Chiapas, where the attorney general of Chiapas reported that in total there are 116 intoxicated students in different schools in the municipalities of Bochil and Tapachula, without yet knowing what caused the problem and without a line of investigation.
Just this October 15, also in Chiapas, the death of a woman and the poisoning of 45 people who consumed food during a party in the municipal seat of Las Margaritas were reported.
The Secretary of Health of the state reported that people attended the social event – on October 12 – and the next day presented gastrointestinal symptoms, with symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea.
The agency said – in a statement – that in the General Hospital “María Ignacia Gandulfo” of Comitán admitted 20 people of legal age, with the same symptoms, of which 7 were discharged for improvement and 13 remain hospitalized, but stable.
