Law that declares Esteban Bullrich as Illustrious Citizen of Buenos Aires

They enact a law that declares former national senator of Together for Change (JxC), Esteban Bullrich, as an Illustrious Citizen of the province of Buenos Aires. This project had been approved in May of this year in the Chamber of Senators, while it became law in Deputies during the month of September. This was published this Friday in the Official Gazette of the district, from the proposal promoted by provincial senator Juan Pablo Allan (Juntos), who highlighted the political career of the also former Minister of Education of the Nation, in addition to his fight against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a disease he is going through.

“Our country does not yet have an open, official and solid base of patients suffering from this disease and, without data, the possibility of creating public policies that guarantee the right of patients and the possibility that they can access treatments, is utopian,” reports the law, which highlights the progress made by the Esteban Bullrich Foundation.

The initiative highlights the work of the former senator, who “fought for his principles and ideals in a forceful way in all the spaces where he has worked.” “However, it is likely that his biggest battle is the one he recently began waging against a very complex disease called Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS),” he says.

In December 2021, Bullrich formalized his resignation from the national senate due to the difficulties resulting from his diagnosis. Given this and his career, Senator Allan said that “he has all the merits to be declared with the highest recognition of the province of Buenos Aires.”
