Chiche Duhalde wants to be a candidate in 2023

Hilda “Chiche” Duhalde, former national senator, announced in the last hours that she is “eager to participate” in next year’s elections, and anticipated that “she could be a candidate for governor” of the province of Buenos Aires. God or society will arrange where they place me. I’m working hard, meeting with people. And then it will be what it should be. I really want to participate, I could be a candidate for governor, “said the former senator. She also assured that she feels “comfortable in the Executive” and warned that a single political party cannot “take the country forward”, in that sense she stressed the importance of generating consensus: “It is impossible to govern if you do not agree with the parties.”

In my beloved PBA there are many needs and I still have a lot to contribute. I want to participate because this Argentina needs basic agreements on 7 or 8 points. I feel very knowledgeable about social issues and I think we have to turn around this crisis that we are living pic.twitter.com/utVcEHMcN1 — Hilda Chiche Duhalde (@chicheduhalde)

In turn, Duhalde referred to the ruling party and differentiated Peronism from Kirchnerism: “I disagree with some media that propose that Peronism is Kirchnerism or that we are all equal. You know that I faced Cristina Kirchner in 2005 convinced that they were going for everything, mainly for the institutions.”
“I don’t feel identified with who they are, I think this is not Peronism. It is true that the political parties are going through a major crisis, but Peronism disappears if it continues in this way.”

Finally, after being asked about her position on the possibility of suspending the PASO, the former official was against such a scenario and responded that the President “does not have to be convinced with the suspension (…) because he has the possibility of veto if he can’t do it in Congress, and he has to show authority.”
