Calle Bandera will be 100% pedestrian: Mayor Hassler announces permanent vehicular closure

As of this Thursday, November 3, Bandera Street will be 100% pedestrian by permanently closing vehicular traffic between Catedral and San Pablo streets, extending the Bandera pedestrian promenade.
In a ceremony that celebrated this milestone, the mayor of Santiago, Irací Hassler, stressed that this fact is the result of the work between public and private entities, which include the movable and artistic intervention, in order to recover public and pedestrian spaces.
He also indicated that it is important to recover the center, since it is everyone’s task and that the purpose of this project is to rescue the façade and projection of the capital’s heritage.
Finally, he added that two working groups will be held to address the issue of security, while the other will analyze the activation of public space.
