Mendoza: A 55-year-old man was stabbed to death

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m., when the victim, identified by the Police as Antonio Oviedo, was on the public road of the Jardín neighborhood, in that town in the province of Mendoza, and for reasons that investigators are trying to establish began a fight with another man who attacked him with a knife and left him badly wounded on the side of the body. After a call to the 911 emergency line, a police mobile was sent to the place and verified the presence of a man lying inside an irrigation canal, so he alerted an ambulance of the Coordinated Emergency Service (SEC), whose doctors established death because of “two puncture wounds on the left intercostal side.” Personnel of the Scientific Police surrounded the place with the aim of finding evidence to find the attacker and after several hours, around noon, a series of raids were carried out in the neighborhood where the event occurred and arrested a man suspected of being the author of the crime. During the raid on the house, a shirt of the Argentine national team was seized, among other clothes, which had blood stains and also found three knives, the sources said. All the kidnapped were at the disposal of justice, while the suspect was lodged in the 11th Commissariat of that town, waiting for the prosecutor of Homicides to take a statement to determine the criminal situation of the accused. The investigation is carried out by the Fiscal Office 11, of Lujan de Cuyo.
