Adrián Lacroix talks about his new show “NOMAD”

The story of Adrián Lacroix and how he surprised the greatest and most contemporary illusionists who were enchanted by his technique and creativity, goes a step further, and is reflected in his new show called “NOMAD” that he presented a few weeks ago at the ND Teatro selling out all locations.
And about this show that mixes magic, illusionism, theater and constant interaction with the spectators he spoke exclusively to Filo.News and told us: “Nomad is perhaps my most personal show. It contains a mixture of illusionism, mentalism and stories and constantly involves the public, making them the main protagonists,” he started while explaining how the creation process was. “It was born between 2020 and 2021 while a pandemic was going on and ironically in that time of confinement, I was involved in a journey around the planet that lasted months and took me to know magical places and people and to be able to share time with colleagues from all over the world. They were also times of many emotions and uncertainties because when there was a border closure I did not know how or when I would be able to return to Buenos Aires,” he said and added: “From those meetings and experiences this spectacle emerged: nomad.” However, that uncertainty mutated into certainty after presenting the show and selling out the function in a short time, a fact that forced him to put a new date that will take place tomorrow, November 24, also with the seats almost full in the ND Theater.
“The reality is that, with the proposal I present, I try to position illusionism in front of the public, in a place of prestige and respect that I think it deserves within the mainstream”

“The fact of having sold out a function in a space like the ND Teatro where 600 people enter and being about to sell out a second function with a one-man show of illusionism honors me enormously,” he said while recalling the times when the producers assured him that a “magic show” did not sell. “For years I heard different producers in the world of entertainment and also some colleagues say that it is practically impossible to get the audience interested in a ‘magic show,'” he recalled.
“Sometimes we think nothing is going to impact or impress us anymore. I think that connection that you live in the show is what surprises the most.”

And he added: “The reality is that, with the proposal I present, I try to position illusionism in front of the public, in a place of prestige and respect that I think it deserves within the mainstream,” he warned. “What may surprise them most about my work is to see that the preconceived image they had about what magic is and therefore what a show of the specialty can be, has nothing to do with what I present.”
To close he told us a little about what NOMAD is about, without spoiling of course, because he remarked that it is an experience to live, since he tries to make the vast majority feel the power of mentalism: “Much astonishment has been lost in the publics of the world,” he said. “And sometimes we think nothing is going to impact or impress us anymore. I think that connection that is lived in the show is what surprises the most, “he concluded.
