Who is left in the government of Puebla? This will make Congress

Before the death of the governor of Puebla, Miguel Barbosa Huerta, the state position must be filled, according to the Constitution of the state.
Barbosa took office on July 31, 2019, which ended until 2024. After spending just over three years in power, Puebla’s constitution states that a new election is not necessary.
According to article 57, section XIX, of the Constitution of Puebla, the State Congress must “elect the citizen who must replace the Governor of popular election, if the absolute absence of this occurs during the last four years of the period. Such officer shall be called the Substitute Governor.”

Ana Lucía Hill Mayoral, Secretary of Government of Puebla, will assume the government while Congress appoints the interim governor.
“In the next few hours, the State Congress will be notified so that it can proceed in accordance with the provisions of Article 57.”

Miguel Barbosa came to the governorship of Puebla by extraordinary elections on June 2, 2019, after the death of Martha Erika Alonso, who won the elections of July 1, 2018 with one million 152 thousand 978 valid votes.
On December 24, 2018, Alonso and her husband, senator and former governor of Puebla Rafael Moreno Valle died when the helicopter in which they were traveling fell.
Upon taking office in 2019, Barbosa said the gubernatorial fight went to “machetes.”
“It took us 19 months to reach June 2, 2019 and the fight was machete because they wanted to extinguish us. They couldn’t stop us and with your help we won,” he said at the time.
