Lisandro Martínez, after the consecration: “We have to leave Messi alone”

The defender of the Argentine National Team, Lisandro Martínez, said that Lionel Messi must be “left alone” to “enjoy this moment”, after the consecration in Qatar 2022 and remarked that if he continues in the team it would be “huge” and “the most beautiful”. On his return to England, the former defender and justice and Ajax player said: “We have to leave Messi alone, enjoy this moment. He has worked so many years to achieve this. If we can continue to have it, it would be huge, the most beautiful thing for us. Now, enjoy every moment,” he told ESPN. In this sense, he recalled his celebration with Messi after the victory against France that placed them as new world champions: “I found Leo and the first thing I was given to do was give him a hug. I was with the emotions to a thousand, very happy. I said, ‘Thank you, thank you.’ I told him everything.” It’s something I can’t describe in words, it’s something unique. It is a complete happiness. Being world champions, it’s crazy what we’ve done. The beauty of all is that we made so many millions of Argentines happy. It’s a huge pride,” he added and recalled: “I had my family behind, on the bench of substitutes. I turned, I saw them screaming, jumping… I saw them and celebrated with them. Then, I started running anywhere. Everyone came, it was such a beautiful moment…” Finally, he was asked about the celebrations with more than five million people in the streets of Buenos Aires: “When we arrived in Buenos Aires we saw so many people and celebrating in that way … I never saw anything like it in my life. It was also seen in Qatar, how they accompanied us every game. We were local in all the games,” he said.
